Greenhouse Gases
The UE2030 is a compact analyzer – offering exceptional cost-performance. Greenhouse gases (GHGs) refer to any gases present in the atmosphere that absorb and emit infrared radiation. The six greenhouse gases regulated under the Kyoto Protocol are: carbon dioxide (CO?), methane (CH?), nitrous oxide (N?O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF?).
Key greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere include: carbon dioxide (CO?), ozone (O?), nitrous oxide (N?O), methane (CH?), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF?). Due to the significant spatial and temporal variability in the distribution of water vapor and ozone, these two gases are generally not included in mitigation planning. As for the Kyoto Protocol, adopted at the Third Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Kyoto, Japan, in 1997, it explicitly mandates the reduction of six greenhouse gases, including the aforementioned: carbon dioxide (CO?), methane (CH?), nitrous oxide (N?O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF?). Among these, the latter three have the strongest greenhouse effect potential. However, in terms of their contribution to global warming, carbon dioxide accounts for the largest proportion (approximately 25%) due to its higher atmospheric concentration.
